Dr. Liebovitz is UChicago Medicine’s Chief Medical Information Officer. His research focuses on improving electronic medical records in areas of patient safety, health care quality and application usability. His work has included approaches to improve clinician cognitive support, automated learning strategies to enhance patient privacy, and specific decision support tools for medication safety, laboratory results and problem lists.

Valerie Press, MD, MPH
Dr. Press’ research focuses on improving the value of care provided to and for patients with chronic disease through patient level self-management interventions and system-based care bundles to decrease acute care utilization. Dr. Press uses rigorous prospective study designs including behavioral randomized trials, mixed methods stakeholder input assessment, and implementation science methodology.

Amanda DeMano serves as the Executive Director for IT Strategic Programs at UChicago Medicine Information Technology group. Cheng-Kai Kao is an academic hospitalist board-certified in clinical informatics. In addition to clinical practice and residency education, his areas of interest in informatics include clinical decision support, mobile health, data analytics, and healthcare innovation. As associate chief medical information officer, he leads multiple initiatives that leverage information technology to provide decision support for the frontline clinicians to ensure patient safety, optimize clinical workflow to increase work efficiency, enhance usability of the electronic health record system to reduce screen time, and make innovations to improve care quality and patient experience.
